Harshini Vijaya Kumar

Hey there! I'm Harshini, an MS Computer Engineering student at NYU and an AI/ML & software engineer obsessed with building at the bleeding edge.

I build a lot with LLMs (fine-tuning, evals, agents, multimodal systems), and I'm just as at home deep in financial data and the backend systems and complex architectures that make real products hold up under load. I love taking an idea from a research spark all the way to a production-grade system that ships.

I also co-founded Grapher Labs, where I built a causal simulation engine for CFOs.

M.S. Computer Engineering, New York University
B.Tech. Computer Science, Cummins College of Engineering for Women
Machine Learning Intern, Capgemini
Designed and deployed a modular LSTM-Attention Autoencoder on edge devices (Raspberry Pi / TFLite) to analyze real-time multivariate telemetry and predict hardware degradation with minimal latency. Engineered a Root Cause Analysis algorithm to isolate subsystem failures and an incremental online-learning pipeline (SGD partial-fit) for memory-efficient model adaptation.
Founder & CEO, Grapher Labs
Co-founded a B2B AI startup building a causal financial simulation engine for CFOs, a 5-layer system spanning structural causal models, counterfactual inference, agent-based simulation, and LLM-hybrid DAG learning. Drove 15+ customer discovery interviews with CFOs and VPs to validate product-market fit, signed 3 LOIs, and secured 2 pilots (incl. Live Nation Entertainment); completed the NYU Leslie eLab accelerator.
Graduate Research Assistant, NYU VIDA Lab
Architected an HRNet-based pose-estimation pipeline with real-time inference, reaching 95% accuracy across 1,000+ subjects. Optimized ETL pipelines across 8+ intersections, cutting latency 35% via Kubernetes orchestration, and built Python automation to launch remote SSH sensor terminals from a single UI action.
Software Engineer Intern, Sycamore Informatics
Built a full-stack React.js + PostgreSQL UI featuring a modular stateful tree and an in-browser Monaco editor. Architected a stateful backend data model standardizing 20+ interdependent state variables and a scalable REST API layer for hierarchical MDR import workflows.
